We have plenty of ideas on how to personalise your special day to make it memorable for everyone - for all the right reasons!There are three main elements to a wedding - the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the evening reception. Although entirely flexible the following illustrates our minimum in terms of style and cost, but please give me a call personally and we can arrange to meet at the hotel and discuss your individual needs over a glass of Champagne!
The Ceremony
The Lincoln has two rooms licensed for Civil Ceremonies or Partnerships, the Lincoln room and the Spires. The Lincoln Grill with its wonderful views of the Cathedral is also licensed and available for a supplementary charge.
To arrange your Civil Ceremony you will need to contact us to check the availability and also our local Superintedant Registrar in order to book the registration staff who will conduct the Ceremony. At this time you will also be given the name of the Registrar for the district in which you live; whom you will need to meet in order to complete the legal documentation for the Marraige.

£10.50 (2008) & £12.50 (2009) per person. Providing the ceremony is followed by your wedding breakfast at The Lincoln.
£20.50 per person if your wedding breakfast is to be held elsewhere, with a minimum number of 50 guests.

The Wedding Breakfast
The Lincoln has several rooms to choose from for the wedding breakfast, The Lincoln Room is the largest. It is possible to have your wedding breakfast in The Lincoln Bar and Grill for a supplementary charge, however wedding breakfasts in our restaurant are subject to time restrictions. The following is a guide from which to tailor your own specific requirements, it represents a complete package and minimum standard with no hidden costs.

All of the above rates are based on a minimum 90% adult occupancy of your chosen suite for the wedding breakfast. These rates do not apply to public or bank holidays, or to days that would normally count as a Bank Holiday. Neither do they apply to the Saturday or Sunday of a Bank Holiday Weekend or to the period 24th December to 2nd January each year. Children under 5 go free providing they are no greater in number than 5% of the total number of adults.
All of the above rates are inclusive of Value Added Tax at 17.5%
Preferred Accommodation Rates
Special accommodation rates apply to any of your guests wishing to stay overnight. However availability is limited and we would urge your guests to make early reservations in order to guarantee these special rates. We shall only be able to offer 10 rooms on this tariff

These special rates only apply to guests staying for TWO NIGHTS, are based on two people sharing a standard twin or double room and are inclusive of a full English breakfast and Value Added Tax.

All accomodation bookings must be confirmed in writing by the occupying guest. For the room to be secured, a prepaymentor credit card guarantee will also be required at the time of booking. Children under 5 years go free sharing their parents room.

Evening Reception
If your Wedding Breakfast is followed by an evening reception, providing you cater for at least 85% of the total number of guests attending in the evening reception, we are able to offer the following terms.
If however you do not wish to provide food for your guests then a room hire charge will apply.
Tariff
£19.00 per person(based on a minimum of 70 persons)
This tariff is fully inclusive of room hire, resident DJ, dance floor and any 6 items from the menu below. Should you wish a wider selection, additional menu items are available at a supplement of £1.95 per two additions per person. The bar on this tariff will close at midnight, with the disco finishing at 12.30am.

England expects every man will do his duty.....make sure your Best Man does his......taking away sme of the pressure of the day from you.
Fresh flowers are the making of a wedding - talk to our florist about ways of making your flowers a talking point.
Guidance from The Lincoln Hotel events team is completely free - take advantage.
Horse drawn carraige - but remember the Church needs to be handy for The Lincoln.
Ice sculpture - from a vodka luge to scallop shells, they make a great centrepiece.
Journal - keep a national and local newspaper from your wedding day - they will make interesting reading in years to come.
Keep a shilling in the frist cork popped after saying your vows.
Lace garter(usually worn by the Bride)!
Microphone - useful for the speeches - remeber to speak slowly and ignore hecklers.
Nuptials - remember the words, music and readings are your personal choice.
Order of service - this special day is all about memories, your guests will appreciate having any reading written out, and any music listed.
Photographers - record your day for posterity. We have photographers we work with regularly and understand how to use the props available at The Lincoln to good effect.
Quartet - to play contemporary throughout the ceremony or at the reception - it really sets the scene.
Register of guests or a guest book is a nice momento. The Lincoln has its very own for a small charge.
Seating plans and personalised place cards by specialised calligraphers - The Lincoln has a number to recommend.
Toastmaster - a very handy way of adding some style and keeping a close eye on the itinerary.
Umbrella - it's not going to rain - it really isn't - think of it more as a parasol - keep one to hand just incase.
Video - a great way to re-live the day in years to come. Be sure to have it copied to a DVD - they keep longer!
Wine - lots of it to choose from beyond our exellent house wines, at a small extra cost.
Xpect to be followed everywhere on your wedding day, you are after all, the centre of attention.
Young ones and children do get bored - children's entertainers, TV and video, are a good idea.
